RACEprompt Privacy Policy

RACEprompt is built by Renaldo Jones (“Dr. Jonesy”). Your privacy matters, and this policy explains exactly how we handle your data.

What Data We Collect

RACEprompt does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data for its core features. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

Specifically:

  • Your prompts and generated RACE content are stored locally on your device only.
  • Your saved and favorited prompts remain on your device.
  • Your profile preferences (industry, tone, categories) are stored locally using on-device storage.
  • Your session history never leaves your device.
  • No analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is collected.

No Accounts Required

RACEprompt does not require you to create an account. There are no usernames, passwords, or email addresses collected by the app.

AI-Powered Features (Premium)

RACEprompt offers optional AI-powered features as part of the Pro upgrade. When you use these AI features (such as “Clarify with AI” or “Execute with AI”), here is how your data is handled:

  • What is sent: Only the prompt content you write (your Role, Action, Context, and Expectation fields) is transmitted for AI processing. No personal information, device identifiers, or account data is included.
  • How it is processed: Your prompt text is sent through a secure proxy server hosted on Cloudflare Workers to Anthropic’s Claude API for processing. The proxy server does not log or store your prompt content.
  • Third-party AI provider: Anthropic (maker of Claude) processes your prompt to generate a response. Anthropic’s use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy and API terms, which state that API inputs are not used to train their models.
  • No server-side storage: Neither our proxy server nor Anthropic retains your prompt content after the response is delivered.
  • Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): If you choose to use your own Anthropic API key, it is stored securely in your device’s Keychain and is never transmitted to our servers. It is sent directly to Anthropic with each request.

AI Usage Tracking

RACEprompt tracks the number of AI requests you have used against your free-tier or Pro-tier allowance. This count is stored locally on your device. No usage data is sent to external servers.

In-App Purchases

RACEprompt offers a one-time Pro upgrade ($9.99) processed entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple handles all transaction processing. For details on how Apple manages your purchase data, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

RACEprompt does not use any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data collection SDKs. The app does not contain any third-party SDKs that collect user data.

The only third-party service used is Anthropic’s Claude API, which is accessed exclusively through the optional AI-powered features described above. Basic prompt generation (without AI) is performed entirely on-device using a rule-based engine with no external calls.

Data Storage and Security

All locally stored data is protected using Apple’s standard security mechanisms, including iOS data protection and Keychain encryption for sensitive items like API keys. Since no personal data is transmitted to external servers for core app functionality, there is no risk of server-side data breaches for standard use.

When AI features are used, data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to ensure security in transit.

Children’s Privacy

RACEprompt does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app’s data-minimization approach (no accounts, no tracking, local-only storage) inherently complies with COPPA requirements.

Your Control

You have complete control over your data. You can delete all app data at any time by removing the app from your device. Since data is stored locally, deletion is immediate and complete.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
